It’s a dream to finally have purchased my first designer bag and let me tell you that the decision was hard.  There are so many good classics to choose from and after some serious thought, I can’t be happier with my decision to go with the Saint Laurent Large Shopping Tote in Burgundy.  Unfortunately the burgundy colour is no longer available, but the new season’s colours are.

I was very lucky to have a voucher to Net-A-Porter after completing my internship and settled on getting a designer bag.  My laptop is constantly being lugged around town, to and from classes and interviews, and a backpack is not the cutest look.  So I eventually settled on getting a Saint Laurent tote as it was both functional, classic, and simple.

The tote is quite a standard size with a subtle Saint Laurent Paris brand printed in gold in between the stitching of the handles.  Additionally there is a leather strap attached to the handle of a metal YSL emblem that can be covered by a leather covering to prevent scratching to the leather bag itself.  A small clutch comes detachable to the inside of the tote as well, where I typically store my wallet and more important items.

Stylistically, the bag is stunning.  Functionally, just the right size and made from a durable leather. My only complaint is that I do like having a zip on my bags as it makes me feel secure.
