NYC Eats | Basta Pasta

As a consultant, I pretty much eat out for every meal for weeks at a time, but I also get to try lots and lots of wonderful food (and some not so great).  Let’s talk about a delicious Italian restaurant close to Union Square in NYC called Basta Pasta.  My brother introduced this place to me not too long ago and it’s one of my favourite places for pasta.

The scallop starter we had this time was amazing and I wish there had been more to eat!  Beautifully cooked and buttery with some broccoli to add some green.

They are most famous for their spaghetti con prosciutto e parmigiano.  The pasta is tossed into a huge wheel of parmesan cheese before returned to the plate with all the yummy goodness of freshly melted cheese and prosciutto on top.

I’m also a big fan of their linguine alla pescatore with the lovely white sauce that I had to clean up with a slice of bread.

In general I don’t think you can go wrong with their food.  The portions aren’t huge either, so I come out satisfied, but not about to pass out from food coma.

I’ve always been a big fan of anything with noodles or pasta, so Italian food is pretty much perfect for me, but not so much for waistline.  If you’re like me, check this place out if you’re in the area!  Just make sure you make a reservation as its pretty busy the moment they open.

Check out their menu here!
