Chanel | Rouge Allure Ink – 144 Vivant

Duty free is one of my favorite places to shop for cosmetics and on my way to Cuba I noticed these matte liquid lipsticks from Chanel and had to get my hands on one.  My friend convinced me to go with the colour Vivant, a bright orange/pink I usually shy away from.

Product: Chanel Rouge Allure Ink #144 Vivant

Price: £26

I have always loved Chanel lip products and this one is no exception.  I even grew to absolutely adore the colour and it made many appearances during my Cuba road trip

Let’s start off with the packaging – in true Chanel fashion it is of a simple design with a black cap with the brand emblem engraved into the gold top and a glass frosted product container.  It’s the same size as a regular lipstick and has a doe-foot applicator.  I have no complaints here and love seeing it in my purse.

The product claims a weightless and intense colour product that lasts for 8 hours.

The formulation is so smooth and silky feeling, with no tackiness or even creaminess, that I often forget I am even wearing a lip product at all!  As it takes a few minutes for this liquid lipstick to fully dry down to a matte finish you have plenty of time to perfect your application.  It also has managed to cover a sunspot/discolouration in the middle of my upper lip, so the pigmentation is fantastic.

My one complaint for this product is it’s lasting power.  It lasts wonderfully for hours…as long as I don’t eat anything.  I’ve noticed that once it has set/dried down, it doesn’t really transfer, budge, or fade too much.  However if you want to eat anything, be aware you will need to reapply.

In the end I love the colour I picked up as I have little in my collection like it and it is easy and comfortable to wear, so I can deal with having to reapply it after food.
